FCB LIONS 3 ROSTANCE EDWARDS 4 11/9/2011
Lions started slowly which is probably what lost them the game. The game was played in very blustery conditions that did not help either side. Rostance got the win in the closing minutes of the game. Man of the matches went to Keegan Bissell who was kept very busy by Rostances very quick centre forward and Liam Buchanan who got a hat trick.
FCB LIONS 2 BROWNHILLS CC 1 (AFTER EXTRA TIME) CAROL CUP 25/9/2011
Brownhills somehow took the lead in the first half. Lions could not seem to get the ball on target. There was also some fine keeping from the Brownhills keeper. In the second half Liam Buchanan eventually got an equalizer. Despite been camped out in the Brownhills half and a good display of football from man of the matches Josh Tolley and Pat Parker the score remained even at full time. In extra time it looked like only Lions stood a chance of scoring with wave after wave of attack. After a nail biting extra time and looking like it was going to penalties, Jack Clews caught the ball just right and looped the ball over the Brownhills keeper to give Lions the win in the last few seconds. Well done lads for your perseverance.
FCB LIONS 0 WARREN ROVERS 2 2/10/11
Despite dominating the game, like the previous week, Lions once again struggled to find the back of the net. Lions played the better football but did not get any rewards. Man of the match was Kyle Hinks. Rovers management were amazed that they came away winning the game.
WYLEY WOLVES 5 FCB LIONS 2 (CAROL CUP 3RD ROUND) 9/10/11
Bloxwich were once again the better footballing side. This was commented on by the manager of the opposition as did last weeks manager. Three of Wyrleys goals came from corners which is something we need to work on. Two great goals from Ben Bannister and Will Cooper and man of the match performance from Mike Mistry and Craig Yarnall.
DDC COLTS 8 FCB LIONS 1 16/10/11
After about twenty minutes DDC took control of the game. Lions goal scorerer was Ben Bannister who also was awarded Man of the Match along with Will Cooper. Thanks to Pat Parker for going in goal after keeper, Emile Fisher, was injured in the second half.
FC BLOXWICH 8 SHELFIELD BLADES 0
A deserved convincing win for Lions. Man of the matches went to George Wood, scoring on his debut for Lions, and Kyle Hinks, slotting four passed Blades. Will Cooper got a brace. Blades scored an own goal.
FC BLOXWICH 2 CRESSWELL 3
An unlucky defeat for Lions. The game was slow to get going but when it did, it was a closely competetive game. Cresswell went ahead but with a fabulous long range free kick from Jack Clews, Lions were back level. The visitors took the lead again. It was a fine strike from Keiran Parker that got Lions back on course, this time. In no time at all, unfortunatley, Cresswell regained the lead. Lions continued to press for the equalizer, coming close on several attempts, but time ran out on them. All the team was awarded man of the match for there efforts.
DDC UTD 0 FCB LIONS 7 (STAN ECCLESTON CUP 1ST ROUND) 13/11/11
A convincing win for Lions in the 1st round of the cup to Division 3 DDC. Goals came from several different players, which is encouraging to see. Pat Parker and Keegan Bissell got their first goals of the season, with other goals from, Keiran Parker, George Wood, Cam Bannister and two for Kyle Hinks. Lions dominated the game so much that it allowed players the chance to play in positions they would not normally play in.
WYRLEY LIONS 4 FCB LIONS 1 20/11/11
An early goal from Cam Bannister put Lions into a short lived lead. Wyrley quickly equalised and went on to be 3, 1 up at the break. The physical size of Wyrley took its toll on Lions with them having no substitutes to bring on. Final score was 4, 1 to Wyrley. Bloxwich man of the matches went to George Wood and Keegan Bissell for their work rate throughout the game.
SHELFIELD BLADES 1 FCB LIONS 4 4/12/11
Man of the matches went to Connor Wall, who scored on his debut for Lions and George Wood who got a hat trick.
FCB LIONS 0 DDC RANGERS 4 (CUP) 11/12/11
Another week of dreadful weather. Lions played some good football and on another day would have taken the win. Unfortunatley luck was not on their side. The scoreline flatters DDC who were not four goals better on the day. Bad luck lads. Keep your heads up.
WARREN ROVERS 1 FCB LIONS 2 8/1/12
Although Lions did not pass the ball around aswell as they can, it was still a deserved win. With only the 11 players, Lions found it hard going and lack of fitness showed after the winter break. Despite that though, they continued to press throughout the game limiting Rovers to the number of shots. Man of the matches went to keeper, Emile Fisher, who although did not have a lot to do, stayed alert and pulled off a couple of great saves and Keiran Parker. Keiran grew into the game into the second half and put in a lovely ball for Kyle Hinks to score his second and winning goal of the game in the dying seconds of the game. Well done to all the lads. You all put in a great performance.
CRESSWELL 3 FCB LIONS 2 29/1/12
Lions showed good heart by coming back from three goals down. The first half was evenly matched. Cresswells first goal goin in off the post straight from a corner. Lions were the more creative of the two teams in the second half with goals coming from George Wood and Kyle Hinks. It looked like Lions were goin to pull it back for a point, but time ran out on them. Man of the matches went to Josh Tolley and Emile Fisher.
